Paperwork Sent and Setbacks

So the good news is that all my visa paperwork was sent through the mail. The bad news, they no longer accept mail-in applications. However, after some emailing back and forth, they are allowing me to do a walk-in appointment in New York. I have had to book a ticket and head to New York tomorrow (Wednesday).

This is an incredible favor as the regularly booked appointments are not until July, which would completely throw off my timeline. It would also mean paying rent in Portugal for three months without being able to live there officially. Sure I could go but then I would have to leave in 90 days. So I am heading to New York and will probably see a few friends there. Back Story: I was a teacher in New York for three years.
